Margaret Wild November 22, 2009Book Review
Congratulations Year 3 on finishing the wonderful story of ‘James and the Giant Peach’ by Roald Dahl. We are pleased to hear that so many of you loved reading the book. Your final activity is to write a recommendation for other children. Your recommendation will need to suggest whether you think that other children should or should not read the story ‘James and the Giant Peach.’ Your response will also highlight parts of the story that you either liked a lot or didn’t enjoy very much. Remember to give reasons for whatever you suggest.

I recommend that children should read this story because they will like it a lot and it is a funny story and it’s a good story for children.
I personally recommend that if children read this story they’ll enjoy my favourite part which is when they are on the giant peach and the sharks are under them.

My favourite part of James and the Giant Peach is when they get the seagulls because when it goes 100 200 300 400 500 501 502 then the peach goes flying in the air.It is really funny because it only moved a little bit when there was 501 and it moved very high when only 1 more came. The 502nd bird came on I don’t think it is possible but it is so very possible to them but it probably isn’t possible in the real world.

I realyl enjoyed the book and I think it is a good book for other children because it is about a boy who goes on an adventure with his friends. He also lives with his two Aunties and lands in the ocean and finds a way out of the situation.

I would recomend this book for children aged from 7 to 17 because it would be to hard for younger people to understand all the long words and because it has a bad word in it.
I don’t think people should read James and the giant peach because if there at school it would waste some learning time.
A reason I think people should read James and the giant peach because it is funny and weird.
I don’t think people should read James and the giant peach because it could take over going out the backyard and playing with your dogs or walk your dogs.
One reason I think you shouldn’t read James and the giant peach because it could give you eye damage or youcould get fat and lazy just sitting there reading.

Children should read it because in the story it has rude words.e.g “idiots” Unless adult read it and skip the rude,or the rude words changed into a better word.
I think it should be for 9-56 years old.
My favourite part is when the cloud-men was throw the hail
